Is Sycamore Academy Online the right homeschool program for me?

Before choosing Sycamore Academy Online, there are some things you should consider.  It is very different from typical homeschooling or a traditional school setting.  If you agree with most of these statements, then you will probably be successful with Sycamore Academy Online. 

• My computer has a connection to the internet and I am familiar with using the computer.
   

• I know how to install software.
   

• I can spend several hours each school day on the computer.
   

• I will log on frequently to check for messages and to do my school work.
   

• I will stay in touch with my teachers through the SOS program or if necessary, by email.
   

• I will ask my teachers for help if I don't understand something.
   

• I can or will learn how to express my thoughts, questions, and answers in writing.
   

• I can usually figure things out by reading them and don't need someone to explain them to me.
   

• I know that there is a lot of reading involved with this program.
   

• I can type easily and quickly enough to get my work done in a reasonable amount of time.
   

• I understand that I have one year to complete my work and to finish in time, I must do work each week.
   

• I like to set my own school work schedule and can follow it.
   

• I enjoy working independently and don't rely on group settings.
   

• I have or am learning good self-discipline and self-motivation skills.
   

• My parent will be able to check on my progress.
